HOW TO USE THIS SITE:

We believe the best way to be fluent in a language is by associating words with images, or situations, and by remembering their uses in sentences, not by translating them.

New words in each episode have dotted underlines, hovering the mouse over each word will open a glossary that contains images, context definitions, examples of sentences and a link to the Merriam – Webster dictionary.

Selecting a word or a passage (with a mouse, or finger on mobile device) will let you hear the pronunciation. Double-clicking on the word will open the same glossary on a new page, for better viewing.

We suggest students practice their pronunciation with a voice recognition app, such as Google Translate, or subscribe to online coaching sessions.

Links for similar videos are provided for those who wish to hear natural, human pronunciation of the same words or similar phrases.

It is suggested that the reader watch the video first; then read the Text and/ or Transcript (when provided); then watch the video again, to test their understanding.

At the end of the chapter students are asked to give examples of sentences that contain new words (those that are double-underlined), to help them remember those words.
